The Living
English Garden

Language grows where .

A place where English is used to communicate, discover, create, play, and understand the world—and ourselves—a little better.

Not quite an English school

English is not the destination.

Here, English is the tool: the language that lets us ask why, negotiate, comfort, investigate, tell stories, understand others and be understood.

How language grows

Experience before explanation.

Understanding is not handed over. It is encountered, built and made one’s own.

Discover

First we observe, try and form hypotheses. Explanation arrives when it can name something we have already met.

Bring it to life

Theatre gives language a reason to exist: characters, problems, absurdities, choices and an audience to communicate with.

Communicate

We do not wait for perfection before wanting to say something. We don't need perfection to communicate effectively. Language grows because it is used for something that matters.

See how we learn

Different paths, shared roots

Every person grows differently.

The Ridiculous English Theatre Company

When communication becomes necessary.

Unlikely characters, absurd problems and very real questions. Students do not perform in order to repeat English: they use English because the story needs it.

Step behind the scenes

What we cultivate

Roots before leaves.

We celebrate the leaves, but we grow the roots.

Take a little of the Garden with you

Seeds to plant. Moments to live.

You do not need to be enrolled at the school. These small experiences are open to anyone who wants to look more closely, share something, or simply spend a few minutes together.

The best way to understand
